Tour Plan
Today, you will take a flight from your beautiful hometown to [Kunming], known as the "Spring City". Arriving in an unfamiliar city, there's no need to worry about getting lost. Our professional staff will greet you with the warmest smiles at the airport. We will arrange a private car to safely transport you to the hotel, and a dedicated person will handle the complicated check-in procedures — you just need to wait for a short while to check in smoothly. Enjoy a seamless airport pickup service and experience the warmth and thoughtfulness of one-stop service throughout the journey.
After breakfast at the hotel, gather in the lobby: take the high-speed rail to Dali (the departure time is subject to the ticket issuance). Upon arrival, proceed to [Jinsuo Island] and board a [cruise ship]. As the most renowned and largest of the three islands in Erhai Lake, Jinsuo Island boasts a rich historical and cultural heritage, known as a "treasure ship of Erhai Lake's 5,000-year-old civilization". It houses the ruins of the Nanzhao King's summer resort and is the birthplace of the hundred-person dragon boat race. Its fishing culture is unique, and the fishing scenery has been named "China's Beautiful Pastoral" by the Ministry of Agriculture. Later, head to Dali's Santorini — [Lixiangbang Town], located along the East Lake Ring Road on the eastern shore of Erhai Lake. Built following the natural mountain terrain, the town's lanes are lined with various flowers and plants, and the streets wind poetically. Wandering through it feels like being in a dream, extremely enjoyable. Except for the absence of the blue-domed church, the entire town is basically China's version of Santorini. Afterwards, return to the hotel to rest.
After breakfast, gather at the hotel and proceed to visit [Dali Ancient City] for free activities:The ancient city is square-shaped with four main gates: the East Gate faces Erhai Lake, the West Gate overlooks Cangshan Mountains, the South Gate is the most prominent among the four— the characters "Dali" on the city gate were written by Guo Moruo. As for the North Gate, a short distance outside it lies the renowned [Chongsheng Temple Three Pagodas], and the famous [Foreigner Street] is also nearby.
Next, take an [open-top jeep] through pastoral scenery to tour Erhai Lake. No matter how time passes, cherish the youthfulness in your heart— the experiences of youth will be etched in memory, evoking endless nostalgia. Enjoy photo opportunities at [Flower Sea] (popular internet-famous spots with glass balls, white tables for aesthetic photo shoots) and check in at the [S-Curve Internet-Famous Spot].
Then depart for Lijiang, stopping at the [Ancient Tea Horse Road Town] — visit Xinhua Handicraft Inheritance Art Town in Yunnan, China. Located at the foot of Fenghuang Mountain in northwestern Heqing County, Dali Prefecture, the town is only about 10 kilometers away from Lijiang Airport and High-Speed Rail Station, serving as an important post on the ancient Tea Horse Road. In 2019, it was named a "Yunnan Provincial Characteristic Art Town" by the People's Government of Yunnan Province.
In the evening, you may independently travel to Lijiang, a world cultural heritage city, and explore [Lijiang Ancient City] — surrounded by three rivers, it is shaped like an official seal, "governing all directions". Wander freely in the ancient city: taste local snacks at your leisure, arrange dinner on your own, and visit attractions such as Naxi murals, the Big Watermill, and Sifang Street. Immerse yourself in the scenery of "small bridges, flowing water, and family homes", experience Naxi ethnic customs, and wander along the famous Lijiang Bar Street. Strolling through the streets, you will appreciate the unique style of the ancient city described as "every family is surrounded by flowing streams, and every household has willows swaying more beautifully than Jiangnan".
After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Shangri-La. En route, stop at the [First Bend of the Yangtze River Viewing Platform]. Then visit [Tiger Leaping Gorge], known as the "world's greatest canyon" (Kind Reminder: Tour duration is 90 minutes. As one of the world's famous grand canyons and one of China's deepest canyons, Tiger Leaping Gorge is renowned worldwide for its "perilous beauty").
Upon arrival in Shangri-La, explore [Dukezong Ancient City]. The architectural layout of the ancient city resembles an eight-petaled lotus, with Moonlight Square at its center. Primitive Tibetan-style wooden houses surround the square one after another. Head to [Guishan Park], where the top houses the world's largest prayer wheel (recorded in the Guinness World Records) — it takes three people to work together to rotate it. On the northwest side of Guishan Park lies Sifang Street. Every night, Tibetan Guozhuang Dance attracts a large number of tourists to participate. If you happen to encounter it, be sure to join in the joy!
After breakfast, gather at the hotel and depart to visit [Shangri-La Characteristic Tibetan Buildings] to learn about Tibetan cultural life. Then proceed to [Tibetan Culture Museum], a sacred site of the Panchen Lama — the supreme Living Buddha in Tibet (tour duration: approximately 90 minutes). Enshrined within the site is a magnificent golden three-dimensional mandala inlaid with the Seven Treasures of Tibetan Esoteric Buddhism. As the world’s largest mandala with the most sacred relics enshrined, it was personally consecrated and named by the Panchen Lama. The Kalachakra Mandala is an essential ritual object for practicing Kalachakra Esoteric Buddhism, where "Kalachakra" means "Wheel of Time". Also housed in the site is a 21-meter-high and 20-ton-weight bronze statue of Kalachakra Vajra.
Next, visit [Pudacuo National Forest Park], a key component of the "Three Parallel Rivers" World Natural Heritage. Composed of Bitahai Lake, Shudu Lake, and Militang Sub-alpine Pasture as its main parts, the park features attractions such as Luorong Village and Militang Grassland between the two lakes. Explore [Shudu Lake] and [Bitahai Lake] at a leisurely pace. After the tour, return to Lijiang and check into the hotel for rest.
After breakfast, gather at the hotel and depart by car to the legendary "Kingdom of Women" — Lugu Lake. Upon arrival, visit the [Lugu Lake Viewing Platform], located on the eastern shore of Lugu Lake with dense vegetation. It offers a panoramic view of the lake and is the best spot to overlook Lugu Lake, making people involuntarily fall silent and savor the beauty of time passing by.
Subsequently, proceed to [Lover's Beach] by car. The beach features a vast shallow area with crystal-clear water that reveals the bright yellow lakebed. A long plank road stretches into the lake, complementing the weeping willows and creating a romantic atmosphere. Continue to the [Lige Viewing Platform], surrounded by mountains, blue sky, and white clouds. From here, you can take in the stunning scenery of the lake and the towering mountains reflecting in the jade-like water, creating an illusion of being within arm's reach yet seemingly distant.
Upon arriving at the pier, board a [pig trough boat] (traditional wooden boat) to cruise to [Ligebu Island], the largest island in Lugu Lake. The breathtaking beauty of the island will captivate you. After feasting your eyes on the scenery, head to the [Mosuo Walking Marriage Banquet] by car. The Mosuo people's walking marriage custom is world-famous and sounds quite mysterious — here, you can experience the matriarchal clan culture firsthand.
After dinner, enjoy the [Bonfire Party], a traditional entertainment event at Lugu Lake. Dancing the "Guozhuang" (circle dance), also known as "Jiacuo Dance" to the Mosuo people, is a golden opportunity for young Mosuo men and women to meet and form "Azhu" relationships. Through dancing, they get to know each other, fall in love, and eventually enter into an "Azhu marriage" (the walking marriage form of the matriarchal clan). After the performance, check into the hotel for rest.
After breakfast, gather at the hotel to witness the [Lugu Lake Sunrise]. Watch as countless golden rays shine upon the lake's surface, where mist dances in the sunlight, lingering between the mountains and waters. Savor this rare moment of tranquility. After the viewing, return to the hotel for breakfast.
Post-breakfast, depart to explore [Lugu Lake Grass Sea], a vast 10,000-mu wetland in Sichuan. Located southeast of Lugu Lake, the area features shallow waters due to long-term sediment accumulation, fostering dense reeds. At one-third of the Grass Sea's expanse, a "Magpie Bridge"—the [Walking Marriage Bridge]—stretches through the reed beds. As the breeze blows, fluttering catkins fill the air, resembling snow-white petals scattered by the Seven Fairies.
Next, participate in a core activity of the Mosuo matriarchal clan: [Experiencing Mosuo Culture and Customs]. Learn about the profound history of the Mosuo people living by Lugu Lake, who adhere to the "walking marriage" tradition of "men not marrying and women not taking husbands." After the cultural experience, enjoy a scheduled lunch.
Subsequently, board the car to return to Lijiang, marking the end of the delightful Lugu Lake itinerary!
After breakfast, gather at the hotel and proceed to visit [Lashi Lake Scenic Area] — an important post on the ancient Tea Horse Road and now known as Lijiang’s "back garden". Every village adjacent to the lake has developed horse farms, making it an ideal destination for horse riding, boating, and bird watching in Lijiang.【Horse Riding Fee (at own expense): 260 RMB per person】Note: Guests not participating in the optional horse riding activity may enjoy free time around the horse farm. The Tea Horse Road trail on the mountain is only open to guests who purchase the optional activity. Please be advised.
Next, head to [Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Scenic Area], hailed as the "Museum of Modern Glaciers". Here, you’ll also find Ganhaizi, an alpine pasture with endless green grass and blooming flowers, as well as Baishui River, which resembles a white river winding through the landscape. Take the [Spruce Meadow Cable Car] (Jade Dragon Snow Mountain has a high altitude; if you need oxygen or warm clothing, consult the guide and purchase them at your discretion). During the cable car ride, admire the scenery of the primeval alpine forest. Afterwards, visit [Blue Moon Valley], known as the "Fairy’s Terraced Fields" (electric cart fee not included: 60 RMB per person). Formerly known as "Baishui River", Blue Moon Valley gets its name from its crescent-shaped valley and crystal-clear blue water under sunny skies, resembling a blue moon inlaid at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
Later, explore [Shuhe Ancient Town] — China’s most distinctive ancient town (free activity). Unlike the large Sifang Street in Dayan Ancient Town (Lijiang Ancient City), Shuhe Ancient Town centers on a square plaza surrounded by old houses and several small streets. It also serves as the local market hub, with bustling shops and traditional-style buildings. [Jiuding Dragon Pool] is the source of the town’s streams, nestled between mountains and rivers. It consists of two semicircular stone pools (one upper, one lower) with crystal-clear water and lush surrounding greenery.
In the afternoon, take a car back to Lijiang and board a high-speed rail to Kunming (specific departure time subject to actual ticket issuance). Upon arrival in Kunming, you will be picked up and transferred to the hotel for check-in and rest.
After breakfast, gather at the hotel and depart to visit [Asia's Largest Flower Market]. You will be transferred to the airport according to your flight schedule, marking the end of your wonderful journey!
