At an altitude of 3,700 meters, the oxygen-rich air makes this an ideal area for acclimatization.
Next, drive through the Tongmai Sky Road (now safely and conveniently reinforced with bridges and tunnels), following the Parlung Zangbo River Gorge, where the river surges between sheer cliffs. Pass by Guxiang Lake, a barrier lake formed by a glacial debris flow in 1953, its surface as smooth as a mirror, reflecting the snowy peaks.
Arrive in Bomê in the afternoon at Galang Lake, once the site of the summer palace of the King of Bomê. The lake displays dreamlike colors, with prayer flags fluttering at the Galang Monastery on the islet. In spring, wild peach blossoms complement the snow-capped mountains.
By evening, reach Rawu Town. As the sun sets, Rawu Lake takes on a milky blue hue, its unique luster derived from glacial minerals, appearing like a gem set in the snow-capped basin. The golden sunset reflects off the lake, and as night falls, the Milky Way stretches across the sky, making this a photographer's paradise.

Depart from Rawu Town in the early morning, heading east along the lakeshore road, your first stop is Midui Glacier. Recognized by "Chinese National Geography" as one of "China's Six Most Beautiful Glaciers," this maritime glacier cascades from the 6,800-meter snow-capped peaks down to the coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest belt at 2,400 meters. Its ice tongue winds like a silver dragon through the emerald green valley. A 40-minute hike through the primeval forest brings you close enough to touch the crystalline ice walls and ice caves.
In the afternoon, drive to the Laigu Glacier group, a world-class glacier museum. First, explore Yalong Glacier—the most spectacular among the Laigu group—which plunges directly from the 6,606-meter summit of the Kangrigarbo Massif into a moraine lake at 4,000 meters. Blue ice tunnels and seracs are scattered in an enchanting arrangement, with sunlight filtering through the ice to create dreamlike azure glows. Trek or ride horses deep into the glacier's heartland, where ancient blue ice lies beneath your feet and majestic snow peaks tower overhead, as if wandering through a polar wonderland.
As evening falls, return to Bomê County along the Parlung Zangbo River Gorge, with沿途雪山森林倒影如畫, concluding this glacier exploration journey.

Depart from Nyingchi in the morning and head to the Basum Lake scenic area in Gongbo'gyamda County, enjoying the Niyang River scenery and primeval forests along the way. Upon arrival, take a boat cruise or hike to the island in the center of the lake to explore the ancient Tsozong Monastery, witness the unique "peach tree embracing a pine" phenomenon, and walk through the corridor of prayer wheels. In the afternoon, begin the journey back to Lhasa. Arrive in the vicinity of the Potala Palace in the evening, change into traditional Tibetan attire, and capture stunning travel photos against the backdrop of the red and white palace walls, the Barkhor Street kora path, or a local sweet tea house—preserving memories of the holy city against the twilight glow of the plateau.

Depart from Lhasa in the early morning, heading north along the Qinghai-Tibet Highway, traversing the northern Tibetan grasslands and the Nyainqentanglha Mountains. Cross the Laken La Pass at an altitude of 5,190 meters, catching a distant view of Namtso like a sapphire set amidst the embrace of snow-capped mountains. Arrive at the lakeshore and stroll on Tashi Dor Peninsula, admiring the "praying hands" rock formations and the vast expanse of prayer flags. The lake sits at 4,718 meters, reflecting the main peak of the Nyainqentanglha Range. Spend the afternoon resting by the shore, experiencing the sacred purity of this heavenly lake, before returning to Lhasa in the evening.

In the early morning, head to the Potala Palace, ascending the zigzag path to the summit of Red Mountain. Walk through the White Palace and Red Palace, exploring the stupas of successive Dalai Lamas and the Treasure Gallery, while overlooking the panoramic view of the Lhasa River valley. In the afternoon, step into the Jokhang Temple to pay homage to the life-sized statue of the twelve-year-old Sakyamuni Buddha and admire the golden roofs of Tibetan architecture and the Tang Dynasty wooden carvings. Then, take a stroll along the Barkhor Street kora circuit, walking clockwise amidst the stream of pilgrims. After enjoying a traditional Tibetan breakfast in the morning, you will be transferred by private vehicle to Lhasa Gonggar International Airport (or Lhasa Railway Station).
